A pick of our amazing food partners

Welcome back to Theera’s blog.

As the COVID situation gets worse, we’re thinking of you all, and we know this month has probably been hard. One thing which has been helping us to get through is support from our partners, so we are dedicating this month’s blog to them.

We have lots of partners in the Food & Beverage (F&B) industry, as well as inclusive employment partners, who work with the team from Steps, our social enterprise, to employ our neurodiverse graduates. If you’d like to help others during COVID, supporting these businesses means you’ll be helping those with autism, Down’s, and other forms of neurodiversity to stay in work. We hope you enjoy reading about the difference businesses are still making even in these difficult times, and get some inspiration for things you can do to make a difference.

Vegan restaurants we love

Broccoli Revolution

Broccoli Revolution is one of our first F&B partners, you might have seen our desserts in their cake fridge! We’ve been working with them ever since we opened in 2016 and are big fans of their Veggie Balls and Green Power Bowl. Not only are they committed to sustainability and sufficiency through their plant-based food, but they also work with many partners to create a better society. Among them are Sati Foundation, who have a goal to improve healthcare and education for underserved and at-risk youth in Thailand, and Bangkok Soap Opera who are well known for their natural and chemical-free soap products and soap making workshops.
Broccoli Revolution’s branch in Central Embassy is temporarily closed, but you can still order for delivery from their Sukhumvit 49 and Charoenkrung branches here.

Barefood

Barefood is one of the first (and the best!) places in Bangkok to try amazing vegan cheese made from organic nuts with a creamy and smooth texture. Their plant-based cheese burger is our favourite so far and their brown rice salad is full of nutrients and flavours. We use their cheese in some of the dishes at our newest branch at theCOMMONS Thonglor including Cheese Toastie and Vegan Three Cheese Spaghetti. However, all of our branches are temporarily closed at the moment for everyone’s safety. Once we reopen, almost everything can be ordered through our website here. Please check on our social media for the reopening announcement of all the branches.

Vegan product suppliers

Swees Cheese

We got to know Swees Cheese from Chiang Mai as we were recipe testing for our newest branch at theCOMMONS. Their vegan cheese is different from Barefood as it is made from homemade organic soy milk. We love their feta cheese and have been using it for our Vegan Cobb Salad. While the company is not based in Bangkok, you can find their products at several places in Bangkok including Dear Tummy at Icon Siam, Health Stories, and Goodsouls Kitchen, for example.

Wine Garage

We also work with Wine Garage. We offer two types of their vegan wines: Soho Wine Co Sauvignon Blanc Peggy 2020, Marlborough from New Zealand, and Barahonda Barria 2017, Yecla from Spain. They are well known for carrying more than 600 selections of artisanal boutique wines with unique stories which you can learn more from their blog. To place an order, please contact order@winegarage.asia or check out their facebook.

Agrilife

Although we also make our own soy-based ice cream, we are still happy to enjoy vegan ice cream from other talented ice cream makers. For those who are coconut fans, we love coconut-based ice cream from Agrilife and we also have their chocolate and strawberry flavors at Theera as an option for customers who are allergic to soy. Their coconut yogurt is a great dairy and soy-free option for making smoothies.

Holly Jolly

For those who are not allergic to soy and prefer a healthier option with a low calorie, fat, and sugar content, Holly Jolly is the choice for you. You can buy their ice cream from Dear Tummy or contact the seller directly via their Facebook page.

Hebe Plant Bar

Lastly, most of the ice cream flavors from HEBE Plant Bar are made from organic rice milk (note: it still contains soy). They have a lot of interesting flavors but our favorites are Red Velvet Lust and Heavenly Sea Salt.

Inclusive employer partners

El Mercado

Our friends at El Mercado were one our first employment partners. Every time they expand, they want to include our graduates, and currently have five working for them! Did you know that they now have two restaurants and two grocery stores, which are still open for delivery so it means you don’t ever have to be without their quality ingredients, and superb food. We are personal fans of their lemon tart!

TheCOMMONS/Roast and their new bagel line – Monty’s

Another of our longtime partners is theCOMMONS who embed community into everything they do and continue to advocate for social change even during these challenging times for business. They recently launched a new line of dreamy bagels which the people of Bangkok are already raving about! Have you tried them yet? Do it today and have the best lunch, you deserve it!
